I provide evidence-based support to perimenopausal and menopausal women, caring for them with research that goes beyond conventional medicine.
While my focus is on midlife women and vulvovaginal disorders, all ages and gender are welcome.
I am a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist and a certified Menopause practitioner, a designation given by the American Menopause Society. I went to medical school at the renowned University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf in Germany, where I also worked until I moved in 2003 to the USA, for family reasons.
In my gynecological practice, I became very early intrigued by the symptomatology of midlife women. I became a member of the Menopause Society, and I have been a Certified Menopause Practitioner since 2013.
My other area of niche-expertise is vulvovaginal disease. My interest in skin goes back to my university-time, when I wrote my doctoral thesis in Dermatology.
On a personal note: Menopause came for myself earlier than I would have expected. And it came with many confusing symptoms and health challenges, many of which I remembered my patients having been reporting to me, but my conventional medical training had not provided me with satisfactory answers or solutions. My own struggles made me search beyond the realms of conventional medicine and I ultimately found the missing link in functional medicine. From that moment on, I decided to make it my mission to help women with menopausal symptoms by customizing their treatment and making them feel their best again.
I have two college aged children, and live in Baltimore, Maryland.
